How Step Up For Students invoicing works for sports academies
A plain guide to invoicing Step Up For Students as a Florida sports academy.
Step Up providers invoice through Step Up's Education Market Assistant (EMA), and only after a parent has reserved scholarship funds for the service there.
The invoicing steps in EMA
This follows Step Up For Students' own provider FAQ, checked October 31, 2026. Step Up's pages are the authority; check them before you rely on a step.
- The parent reserves scholarship funds for your service in the EMA Marketplace.
- Your staff find the reserved order under Billing, then Service Orders.
- Your academy delivers the service.
- Staff enter the service dates on the reserved order and save it.
- Staff invoice the saved order from the Service Invoicing tab.
- Staff track each invoice's status in the Reporting tab.
Award amounts and becoming a provider
Award amounts depend on the scholarship and the school year, so we don't repeat them here. Step Up publishes them, along with how to apply as a service provider.
What to track on your side
- Which part of each family's tuition the scholarship covers.
- What the family still owes you.
- Invoices waiting on Step Up, and how long they've been waiting.
How CCCM BellhouseOS handles it
- An invoice can be split between the scholarship and the family.
- Each scholarship invoice has a status: to submit, submitted, approved, paid or denied.
- If Step Up denies an invoice, the amount moves to the family and they get a notice.
- No Step Up logins or scholarship ID numbers are stored.

Questions
- Can an academy invoice Step Up before the parent reserves funds?
- No. Step Up says a provider can invoice only after a parent reserves funds for the service in EMA.
- How much does a Step Up scholarship cover?
- It depends on the scholarship and the year. Step Up publishes the award amounts; this page links them rather than repeating them.
- Does CCCM handle scholarship money?
- No. CCCM never holds scholarship funds. Step Up pays the provider through EMA.
